J curve effect applies in language learning too

@果果中文

It is the first time we introduce the weather. Our picked it up quickly. What make me thrilled as an English teacher is the precise pronunciation of all the consonants.

/t/ in hot

/d/ in cold

and the /th/ sounds which is usually nortoriously pronounced as /da/ or /za/ in Japanese language.

They got them all right, without sweat.

Japanese language has to end with vowels and Katakana make it worse when kids become literate. This 2 little preschoolers have been with us for 12 months. Instead of stuffing them with huge vocabularies to impress their moms, we focus on, "say it , say it correctly, say it in real English. " When it does not sounds right, we go slow, we practice it syllabus by syllabus. And we make sure the intonation go as natural as it is supposed to be in English. V-o-i-l-a! this is the pay off. Kids learn fast and forget fast. we understand. And we embrace it by recycling to reach acquisition. However pronunciation stays, forever. There is a golden period from 3 to10. Thank you for choosing GoGo English to build this once in a life time language asset with you, little young gentleman.

Happy thanksgiving. stretch out your tongue please.
